Bystander - UN Women Campaign
One-day short film shoot with Unreal Engine-powered virtual production and camera tracking.
Pre-Production Phase
Most of the work we produce at Silvertown Studios is for commercial campaigns across fashion, e-commerce, technology and many other industries. So when Banquet Films approached us with a charity short film supporting a great cause, we were delighted to be involved.
Working closely with the filmmakers, our Virtual Art Department created three bespoke Unreal Engine environments, each carefully designed to support the story and enhance the film's visual journey. Throughout the project, our team collaborated closely with the production designers to ensure a seamless blend between the physical set and the virtual world, creating environments that felt completely natural on camera.
Production - Fast paced 1 day shoot
With this being a charity project working to a limited budget, one of the biggest challenges was fitting everything into a single shooting day. Thanks to the incredible work of the entire production team, we successfully moved between multiple virtual environments with quick turnarounds and even managed to capture additional scenes outside the studio, all within one day.
This is where virtual production truly comes into its own. Instead of spending valuable hours travelling between locations, productions can move seamlessly between multiple environments in a matter of minutes, making the most of both time and budget without compromising on creative ambition.
A huge thank you to everyone involved in bringing this project to life. We're incredibly proud to have played a part in a film that not only tells an important story but also supports a great cause.
